Through one-on-one support from a financial coach, Stand By Me will help you meet the criteria needed to qualify for a mortgage. After working with a coach to become mortgage-ready, Stand By Me will refer you to a housing counselor who will walk you step by step through the purchase process and help you to access programs for downpayment and settlement assistance.
We’ll also tell you about a wide range of mortgage products, including DSHA’s consumer-friendly mortgage products, competitive mortgage rates and flexible lending criteria. Information will also be provided about mortgages available from the Veterans Administration, USDA, banks and mortgage lenders.
Need down payment and closing cost assistance? The Delaware State Housing Authority offers down payment and settlement assistance to first-time, current or past homeowners. Plus, with the Delaware Tax Credit, you can receive a federal tax credit of up to $2,000 for each year you own the house.
